Frank Evridge

Meet Frank Evridge. He was born in Brownwood, Texas and lives in Midkiff, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1972. Frank currently serves as a director for the Soil and Water Conservation District 234 (Middle Concho). In the past he has served as president of St. Lawrence Cotton Growers and as a director for Midkiff Farmers Co-op. His hobby is wildlife observation.

He married his wife, Joyce, in 1969. Together they have 3 children who are grown and living on their own. Their son, John Evridge, also carries on the family farming tradition by following in his father’s footsteps. Frank and Joyce attend the St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Frank has been farming since 1963 making him the seventh generation to cultivate the land. His goal to get the land in better condition than when he acquired it led him to inquire about organic methods. This inquiry in 2000 paved the way for a more earth friendly method of caring for the soil and environment. He works 730 acres of land with 700 of these acres growing organic cotton. Frank’s association with Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative (TOCMC) aids him in effectively getting the cotton from field to market. His other crop consists of pine trees, which is represented in his corporate name - Trees of Royalty, Inc.

When asked to describe something unique or interesting about himself, he modestly states, “I am plain vanilla”. Frank is an innovative thinker. He likes to research new ideas about different kinds of crops and environmental stewardship. His reward for producing organically is the increased earthworm population brought about from using an organic system.
