Forrest Perry

Meet Forrest Perry. He was born in Port Hueneme, California and presently lives in Van Horn, Texas. He earned a BBA and BME from Angelo State University in 1985. In addition to his farming activities, he is a school band director. This vocation enables him to give future generations an appreciation for music in a performance type environment. It also enables him to create an atmosphere for the students that better enhances not only their abilities to communicate, work and perform with one another but also within the society in which they live. He married his wife, Twyla, in 1992. They attend the Church of Christ in Van Horn. His #1 hobby is watching the Dallas Cowboys NFL football team compete.

Forrest began to farm in 1997, becoming the first generation farmer in his family. He organically grows cotton because of the benefit of producing a better / healthier product and to improve the environment by avoiding the use of all harmful chemicals. He cultivates 300 acres of organic cotton. His other crops consist of blue corn, oats, rye and wheat.

His rewards for producing organically is simply viewing nature at work in the organic process and reaping the benefits of a fertile crop.
